An exquisite ancient Roman marble head of female, C. 1st - 2nd Century AD
Depicted in her youth, her oval face with a rounded chin and slightly-parted full lips, the almond shaped eyes beneath a softly curving brows arching gracefully and merging with the bridge of her nose, her forehead peaked at the center, the luscious wavy hair center parted, the individual strands delineated, pulled behind her ears, bound in a fillet and tied in a chignon at the nape of her neck
A very high quality sculpture.
